Geopark: Synneshøj
Beautiful and highly undulating dead ice landscape

Natural Areas
photo: Geopark Det Sydfynske Øhav
The landscape is characterized by numerous smaller hills and valleys, which together form an almost independent landscape unit in the north-central part of Ærø. The highest point is Synneshøj (62 m).
The surface layers are partly made up of meltwater deposits. The landscape was probably formed in connection with the melting of the last ice stream in the area around 17,000 years ago.
